If you have followed our blog for a while now, you have no doubt heard me talk about Tchéou. He was Andrew’s and my first Togolese ministry partner and has become a crucial part of our work. From the time we first met Tchéou, he has asked us to pray for his wife, Christiana, who has caused many problems for Tchéou over the years. Based on some things we have recently learned and seen, we highly suspect that she may be in bondage to demonic oppression. This has manifested itself in many various ways, but as of late she has been acting more and more irrationally and causing problems in her family, with their neighbors, with other people in Kanté where they live, and even with her extended family in Ghana. The fruit of her life at the moment is nothing but destruction, division, fear, accusations, and lies. She grew up in a Christian home, her father being an influential pastor in Ghana, but somewhere around 15 years ago things began to change. While we don’t know all the details of her life, we do know that she is God’s child and that she desperately needs to be delivered from this mental and spiritual bondage.
I know that this is probably way outside the comfort zone for some of you reading this now, and you may even find it a bit strange or weird, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take in order to ask you who read this blog to lift up Christiana in prayer over the next 24 hours. You see, we will be meeting with her tomorrow afternoon (around 4-7am PST on Saturday) in order to confront her, pray with her, and help her in any way we can. You may have never prayed like this before, but please pray specifically in Jesus’ name that she will be open and willing to talk with us, that she will be released from spiritual bondage, that the Lord will give us the gifts of discernment, wisdom, and knowledge, that any demons oppressing her will be bound, and that the power of the Holy Spirit will conquer the enemy. Pray also for the protection and guidance of all those involved in this meeting: Tchéou, Daré, Jean, Andrew, and myself.
I want to thank you in advance for your prayers! I wish that everyone back home could see the obvious and direct ways that God has used your prayer here among the Lamba people, and I believe that He will again tomorrow!
Oh yes, and by the way, I’m back in Togo in case you didn’t know already. I’ll be here for five weeks before returning in mid-February.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
